On Sunday we celebrated our Wedding anniversary with a relatively quiet Sunday together as a family. My wife and children are happy to share me with the world but equally thrilled to have me for themselves. Tuesday was Sport's Day and whilst Lucy quietly enjoyed her participation with unfussy contributions, Daddy Lincoln managed not only to come last in the Dad's race but fall over 4 times, lose his shorts and dive for the finishing line in spectacular fashion; to say it was memorable would be to understate the whole affair. One thing, I have done is to seal my notoriety here at Lucy's school, for sure.
Prior to our family time, a busy week began with a re-scheduled concert with the superb Northampton Philharmonic Choir playing George Shearing accompanied by sidesmen Andy Gemmell(drums) and Loz Garrett (Double Bass). Friday was the annual student concert, and it was once again a great success with my young Pianists playing on the specially brought in Yamaha Concert Grand Piano with P.V.P. Videos (John Wisener) and First Light Photography (Dawn Branagan) on hand to record the event for DVD. Saturday was an intensive 3-way hit with 2 Wedding Ceremonies at Whittlebury Park and a marathon Golden Wedding Party with the trio and Neal Astbury at Overstone.
In June, the trio headlined at the ever growing Midsummer Music Festival in Towcester, I entertained for the construction magazine 'Vertikal Days' at Haydock Park, ran the day of a comprehensive Period Silver Wedding Activity/Party with my mates from Stones Events up at the palatial surroundings of Rolleston Hall. In between has been an assortment of lovely events at Brownsover Hall Hotel in Rugby, a full on Masonic Masters' Evening with the trio plus Geoff Tooley on guitar and I even squeezed in a day of Piano Accompaniment to some Ballet Examinations. But I have to mention my Jenny and Jason Hoddle's Wedding at the Orangery, Whittlebury as a particular highlight alongside my mate and photographer Geoff Smith, who allowed me to thoroughly enjoy a photo opportunity with the bridesmaids who are currently featuring on my facebook profile!
It's been a good June! The weather has been kind and warm, the people have been great fun. Performing and playing is worthless without the people.
After a quiet weekend with a celebration performance at Titchmarsh near Thrapston in East Northants, I am back to hit the Weddings hard for the latter half of July with trio on-board for much of it! Looking forward to meeting more of my old Weddings mates!
